5 Best-Dressed Footballers At FIFA 19’s Global Launch

From scoring goals on the pitch to scoring style points on the red carpet, these five looks caught our eye!

Some of the biggest names from the worlds of football and entertainment gathered at Tobacco Dock in London on Thursday, September 20 to celebrate the official launch of FIFA 19. The full version officially drops on September 28 and eager fans were given a sneak peak of the action that awaits them.

In addition to the launch, the first ever FIFA Rating Awards were also held at the event. Organised by game developers EA along with SPORTbible, they honoured some of the highest rated players in the game. The red carpet for the awards witnessed a parade of football’s finest dressed in a mix of formal and casual attire for the awards night. We’ve picked out five of the most stylish and diverse looks on the night.

1. Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian midfielder is currently sidelined by a knee injury but was in full form at the event, dressed in Les Hommes, classic all-black but with a modern twist. A black shirt and suit jacket made the look all business at the top while sleek tapered trousers with leather panels around the knees teamed up with shiny black slip-on loafers dialled up the style quotient at the bottom. The award he picked up for being the best Premier League player was the perfect accessory!

De Bruyne will be hoping to be strutting his stuff back on the pitch soon but in the meanwhile he’s still putting in a classy performance on the red carpet!

2. The F2 Freestylers

They might not be professional footballers, but they’re very well known in footballing circles and can match up with the best of them in the style stakes! The freestyling skills of Billy WIngrove and Jeremy Lynch have propelled them to YouTube stardom and their mastery of urban streetwear is enhancing their reputation in the world of style.

While Billy showed off one of the best ways to carry off double denim and paired it with fancy sneakers, Jeremy went for the all-black street casual look with the leather jacket, ripped jeans and black sneakers.

3. Wifried Zaha

The Crystal Palace forward picked up an award for his 5-star skills on the night and his style game was worthy of another five stars! Like De Bruyne before him Zaha was another following the all-black trend on the night, teaming up his black denim jacket and black Gucci t-shirt with distressed black denim jeans.

4. Erik Lamela

Attending the event in the company of his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Toby Alderweireld, the Argentine showed off how well black goes with white in his urban-casual get-up of black leather jacket, black t-shirt, ripped white jeans and white sneakers. Lamela and Alderweireld were some of the stars to test out the new game at the event, facing off against each other in a match.

5. James Maddinson

Quickly making a name for himself as one of the most stylish midfielders on the pitch, Leicester City’s summer signing made a strong case for his off-field style as well. While his colleagues showed off a variety of casual and formal looks, Maddinson went for smart casuals in his black shirt, cropped and fitted beige trousers and black sneakers.
