Ranbir Kapoor has been in the news recently for reasons more than one. His outstanding performance in Sanju, his rumoured relationship with actor Alia Bhatt and his upcoming film with her, Brahmastra. The star might’ve gone MIA courtesy of his not-so-well grossing films in the past two years but his role in Sanju was proof that he’s back and this time, for good. But that’s not what we’ll be talking about. Ranbir’s always been a fan of classic wardrobe staples. And with the combined brilliance of his stylists Priyanka and Kazim, he successfully dons looks that are trendy and evergreen at the same time. As he turns 36 today, let’s take a look at some of his looks that prove that his style is not timeless.
1. The Classic Go-To
Ranbir’s version of a plain white tee and blue denims involve a tan coloured leather jacket and leather sneakers. That’s all the classic wardrobe staples in one look. We like how Ranbir uses a pair of navy leather shoes to elevate his otherwise basic look.
2. The Perfect Mix
Indian wear is never easy to get right. You want to keep up with the times but don’t want to go overboard either. Clearly, Ranbir’s nailed the art of striking the right balance. He paired a monochrome striped kurta with a Rohit Bal jacket and a blue churidaar that can easily be passed of as a pair of denims. We love this pseudo Indo western look.
3. Red Carpet Ready
Dressed in Tom Ford, the star definitely knows how to set red carpet standards. When it comes to arriving in style, Ranbir knows that nothing works better than a classic navy suit. Top that off with a pink pocket square and fine footwear to look red carpet ready.
4. Casual Cool
Summer’s incomplete without a pair of white pants, isn’t it. For Sanju promotions, Ranbir worked the summer essential with a blue t-shirt and a grey jacket. The green loafers from O'Keefe and that dainty necklace complete the look just right.
5. The Utilitarian Comeback
We already told you how the Utilitarian trend is set to make a comeback. Looks like the star knew that a long time ago. Courtesy of Ranbir, all it takes is an olive green jacket and a pair of hiking boots to give that basic tee and trousers look a trendy twist. Take the hint and don’t shy away from wearing olive green over olive green this season!
6. White Out
Ranbir’s attire for Anand Ahuja and Sonam Kapoor’s reception was proof that you don’t need too much colour to make Indian wear work for you. Ranbir’s outfit is classic and trendy at the same time, thanks to the white Manish Malhotra ensemble along with those leather loafers.
7. The Winter Essentials
Winter trends might tell you otherwise, but a black sweatshirt and a pair of jeans styled with dapper sneakers is the most fail-safe way to look stylish. And we’re not talking about a basic black sweatshirt. Think geometrical prints that add an edgy twist to it!
