If you grew up before the smartphone age, we’re pretty sure you must have been a huge fan of graphic novels. Reading them, talking about them with friends, and planning your own - it didn’t really get any better than that, did it?
That’s how Bhavesh Joshi, directed by Viramaditya Motwane, starts-with an original graphic novel, based in Mumbai. So is it just another superhero-trying-to-get-justice kind of movie? We don’t think so. There is a good dose of reality thrown in - with paper bags being used by regular guys for masks, evil doers getting an upper hand over the superheroes and some pretty excellently timed punchlines.
Harvardhan Kapoor’s second Bollywood movie sure has us totally hooked (and that’s more than we can say for his first!) but we can’t help pointing out… The trailer felt more like the first half of the movie. While trying to convince us of the plot, the makers have basically given everything away but the ending. Oh, well. We still think it’ll be worth the watch!
